Civil Project Manager

Summary:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in land development related civil engineering consulting services.
  • Professional Registration in Civil Engineering. State specific water quality certifications such as QSD and QSP (CA) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report preparation.
  • Ability to successfully manage utility scale PV development projects throughout the United States as civil engineer of record.
  • Proficiently utilize project management and administration software. Experience with industry typical technical analysis and design software is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively coordinate the project design team with the overall project management of the project to ensure proper communication, documentation, quality control, profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Manage and mentor multiple project engineers in the technical aspects of analysis, design, and preparation of civil documents for permitting of PV ground mount developments.
  • Manage all aspects of client interaction including preparation of proposal scope and fee, primary client contact, preparation of monthly billing instructions, and managing accounts receivable.
  • Assume primary responsibility for agency interaction in understanding project design and permitting requirements, guide negotiations and discussions related to agency requirements, and actively manage project review and approval process.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience and the ability to successfully lead PV projects through the Development, Final Engineering, and Construction Phases. Including feasibility, preliminary engineering, entitlements, final engineering, permitting, and construction support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, and experience in all aspects of civil engineering analysis, design, and practice related to PV development. And the ability to perform or direct the civil engineering.
  • Hold and maintain professional registration in multiple states and sign civil documents as engineer of record.
  • Fundamental knowledge of land surveying and geotechnical engineering practices and the ability to manage the appropriate scoping of services and execution of contracts and services by survey, geotechnical, and other sub consultants as required.
  • Successfully manage project budgets and schedules and to meet project performance goals.
  • Provide positive motivational leadership within the civil team.
  • Foster positive productive interaction and working relationships with clients, agencies, and internal personnel.
  • Complete internal administrative responsibilities such as time sheet, project billings, personnel reviews, and billing projections in a timely manner.
  • Manage and Mentor direct report civil project engineers.
  • Actively participate in assigned internal management activities related to process improvements, quality control, personnel training, and other business management related activities.
