Title: Manager, Performance Operations


The Manager, Performance Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations and the monitoring of the Coronal Energy’s portfolio. He/she is the primary contact point for grid and balancing authorities and is responsible for the utility compliance prior and during operation of the power plants.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manages the Performance Operations Specialist(s)

• Manages the communication with grid and balancing authorities; builds strong relationships with utilities

• Ensures Grid and ISO compliance

• Supports Performance Operations Specialist(s) with the more complex operational analysis

• Creates reports and presentations for the Executive team

• Audits O&M Providers monitoring procedures

• Oversees O&M Provider(s) operations and monitoring

• Solves Data quality issues - works with data providers to fill detected gaps and correct inaccurate data

• Oversees testing with EPC providers during Commissioning; validates system grid compliance prior to integrating it to the Operating Portfolio

• Supports upstream development and acquisition of new projects by reviewing requirements of utility documents, interconnection studies and agreements; identifies, documents, and manages interconnect and grid compliance risks through the life of the contracts

• Researches and understands current standards in Solar Industry

• Develops procedures for performance operations and constantly works to improve the monitoring process; defines alarms thresholds and associated corrective actions; adapts the procedures for performance operations according to the different Markets

• Develops procedures for operating Energy Storage Systems; understands the rules and the challenges of the different revenue streams associated with these new technologies

• May represent the Asset Management/O&M Homeroom in a Project Team during earlier sages (Origination, Early Stage/Late Stage Development and/or Construction Phases)


• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related scientific/technical discipline

• 5+ years as in power plant / high voltage substation operations and/or complementary combination of education and experience in a service environment that includes electrical systems and power generation plants

• Familiarity with commercial, industrial and utility-scale electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications

• Understanding of the relevant electrical codes, building codes, and permitting procedures for medium and large-scale solar projects

• Excellent technical, analytical and communication skills, strong interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational capabilities

• Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies

• Ability to work within tight deadlines
