Title: Policy Director

Reports to: Vice President, Strategy


The Policy Director will be an individual contributor role supporting all aspects of market strategy, project development, and deal origination with an emphasis on legislative and regulatory energy policy research. A significant component of this role will entail mastering and fully utilizing a number of energy-related data services.

Candidates must demonstrate keen interest in and knowledge of the energy sector, sharp critical thinking and research skills, and a proven ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Tracking, interpreting, and reporting regulatory and legislative trends in markets across the country
  • Analyzing the impacts of specific policies on Coronal Energy activities at both the market and project level
  • Contacting utilities, policy experts, and other relevant entities to supplement desktop research
  • Engaging with industry groups and trade associations
  • Utilizing relevant data platforms (e.g., PowerSuite) to support strategy
  • Delivering market intelligence to project development and deal origination teams

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two years’ experience in a related field
  • Experience in government and legal affairs
  • Passion for renewable energy
  • Facility with online research
  • Experience with regulatory and policy work with utilities desired


This location of this role is open, but will ideally be based in San Francisco, CA, or Charlottesville, VA.
